Folk museum ethno house Barilo

Blato is one of the oldest places on the island and it is 7 km distance from Vela Luka. Old stone houses and citadels are scattered over 7 surrounding hills. In the village centre of the town runs the linden tree main road. Ethno house Barilo is in fact a museum of everyday life of this family.

 It is also a museum of Blato’s history as well as the history of the whole island of Korčula. Everything began 30 years ago with the restoration of family heritage. Today in Barilo ethno house one could see over 2000 exponents (items from every day use from the recent and more distant past) that make part of the legacy of Blato and Vela Luka. It is a collection of tools for agriculture and fishing, old crafts,and  handcrafts. The whole estate has been originally  decorated in a typical agriculture family style that includes curative and aromatic herbs around the whole house.

The tour includes cake tasting original from this area, homemade liqueur and brandy.
