Some of our suggestions for an active holiday experience:

CYCLING
One of the ways to experience the beauty of the island is to take a cycling tour. The whole area of Vela Luka is criss-crossed with small lanes joining the bays, olive groves and vineyards.  Many of these lanes lead directly to the sea, so you will have an ideal opportunity to find a small «private» pebble beach and enjoy the wonders of nature around you.

TENNIS
Tennis courts are adjacent to Hotel Adria. This hotel is situated in a beautiful small bay and is only a 5 minute drive from Vela Luka centre. Reservations and hire of equipment can be arranged at reception.

BOAT HIRE
An interesting way of exploring the bays and inlets, is by hiring a boat and an experienced skipper, sa well.  Delivery of the boat to your accomodation can be arranged.

WALKING
You can take an invigorating 30 minute  walk to Vela Spilja Cave.  It is 130 m above sea-level.  From here you have an unbelievable view of all Vela Luka. Note the stone walls «meje» , which zig-zag across the arable land.
You can also visit the hill «Hum», 377 meters above sea-level.  From the top of this hill you can see the islands of Lastovo, Hvar and Vis, and when the weather is still and clear you may even glimpse the coast of Italy.
